Felix Krieger, a versatile conductor with an extensive opera repertoire, will lead the music of , and director Wolfgang Nägele, who is building his own directorial world, will present the audience with realistic and contemporary characters rather than mythical ones, and ask various questions about reality, marriage, and freedom.
Oberon, the king of fairies, sends Puck, a fairy, on an errand of love flowers to bring two young people together. The flowers are enchanted to make the bearer fall in love with the first person they see. However, the fairy’s mistake results in the wrong people falling in love. The town is preparing for a play, and Puck prankishly turns Bottom’s head into a donkey and puts the love flower on Titania, Oberon’s wife. She falls in love with the donkey-headed Bottom. This sudden change in attitude causes a fight to break out between the young lovers, and the fight spreads to Titania and Bottom. Exhausted from the fight, they fall asleep and Puck sets them back on track. When they wake up, they realize it was all a midsummer night’s dream.
